Meet the Staff

Experienced Educators. Exceptional Teaching.

Exceptional teaching begins with knowing children well. Our teachers take the time to understand each child's academic strengths, personal interests, and readiness for new challenges. With the training, resources, and flexibility to individualize instruction, they know when to offer greater depth, acceleration, or support.

Our Elementary teachers hold at least a bachelor's degree, and many have advanced degrees. All participate in a school-funded, three-year professional learning program combining foundational study, postgraduate-level coursework, mentoring, and classroom experience alongside a veteran teaching partner. This preparation equips teachers to deliver our individualized curriculum and work effectively as a teaching team.

Our Preschool teachers bring specialized education and experience in Early Childhood Education and Child Development. Through careful observation, purposeful play, and individualized instruction, they nurture children's curiosity, independence, and readiness for new challenges.

Our Specialist teachers are members of our school faculty, bringing expertise in engineering, our Maker program, visual and performing arts, Spanish, physical education, technology, and more. Their teaching is integrated into the regular school day.

Lifelong learning is part of our school culture. WHPS makes a substantial, ongoing investment in professional development across all divisions, providing teachers with the training, resources, and opportunities to deepen their expertise, understand their students as individuals, and continually strengthen their teaching practice.

Meet our faculty below. Each educator shares a personal mission statement alongside their biography, offering insight into their experience and approach to teaching.
