Jennifer Baker
Elementary Learning Specialist
Jennifer.Baker@WHPSchool.com
Jennifer Baker began her career in elementary education in 2011 and joined WHPS in 2016. As our Elementary Learning Specialist, Jennifer works closely with teachers to identify students whose learning needs may extend beyond what can naturally be provided within their current classroom or grade-level program.
Jennifer helps configure and teach small groups of students with similar learning needs, providing targeted instruction that can range from strengthening foundational skills to greater depth and acceleration for students working significantly beyond grade-level expectations. Her work is an important extension of WHPS’s individualized learning model and allows us to respond to students who may be outliers within their grade or age group.
Learning Specialist groups are thoughtfully determined by the school based on student needs, appropriate groupings, and available support. They complement the differentiation happening within our classrooms but are not intended to replace individualized intervention or outside services a student may need for a learning difference.
Jennifer holds a B.A. in Liberal Studies from California State University, Northridge and is a proud WHPS parent.
Mission Statement
My mission is to make sure my students get the most out of their time with me. I will do my very best to ensure they know how much I care about each and every one of them. My hope is that years from now they will think of me and smile.
