Jennifer Foster began her career in education in 2009 and joined WHPS in 2014. As Upper Elementary Division Lead, she provides instructional leadership and oversight for our 2nd–5th grade program, working closely with teachers on curriculum, assessment, student progress, and the continued development of classroom practice.
Jennifer brings particular strength in creating upper-elementary experiences that move students beyond simply mastering content. She supports teachers in developing project-based learning, meaningful student choice, and opportunities for higher-level thinking, problem solving, independence, and intellectual challenge. Her work helps ensure that students are continually building the academic skills, confidence, and independence they will need for middle school and beyond.
Jennifer also leads WHPS’s middle school placement process. Through ongoing relationships, visits, and collaboration with area middle schools, she helps families understand their options and identify schools where each child can continue to thrive. Drawing on more than a decade of guiding WHPS graduates through this transition, Jennifer has been instrumental in shaping our approach to middle school readiness and working backward from what students will need for continued success.
Jennifer holds a B.A. in Liberal Studies and Elementary Education with a focus on Science. A former Rockette, she also lends her talents to schoolwide performances and is a proud WHPS parent.
