Cynthia.Baroudi@WHPSchool.com
Cynthia has worked in the field of education since 2015 and joined WHPS in 2019. She holds a master's degree in Child Development and a bachelor's degree in Education from California State University. Before joining the leadership team, Cynthia taught in both the preschool and elementary programs, with a particular focus on early childhood education. She is also a proud WHPS parent.
As Dean of Students, Cynthia draws on her background in child development to support students' social, emotional, behavioral, and developmental growth while partnering closely with teachers and families. She oversees many of the school's developmental screening and assessment processes, helping teachers build a complete picture of each child's strengths and learning profile. When additional support or evaluation may be beneficial, Cynthia partners with families to help ensure students have the tools and resources they need to thrive. She also works directly with students to build resilience, healthy friendships, self-regulation, and problem-solving skills, provides coaching and professional development for faculty, and serves on the Admissions Committee.
Mission Statement
My mission is to recognize parents as primary educators and believe that a good parent-teacher relationship is necessary for maximum school success. I believe students learn best through hands-on activities and in a safe environment that promotes learning. Children should be able to depend on their classroom community through the consistency of guidance and the schedule of routines that are present. Teachers should provide opportunities for all students to grow and develop socially, emotionally, and cognitively together. I believe learning should be meaningful and should build connections to prior knowledge or experiences. I believe children learn differently, but all children are able to learn.
