Christine has worked in the field of education for over 30 years and joined WHPS in 1999. She holds a bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies and has completed extensive leadership coursework in Early Childhood Education. Throughout her career at WHPS, she has served as a classroom teacher, Camp Director, and, since 2013, Preschool Director. She is widely respected for her deep understanding of early childhood development and her exceptional ability to recognize each child's unique strengths, interests, and developmental readiness, helping teachers and families recognize not only where children are, but also the next opportunities to inspire growth, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning. She is also a proud WHPS parent.
Drawing on more than three decades of experience in early childhood education, Christine provides leadership for all aspects of the Oxnard Campus preschool program, overseeing curriculum, instruction, faculty development, and the day-to-day operation of the school. She guides teachers in designing thoughtfully planned learning experiences that balance inquiry, play, creativity, and the natural environment with rich academic opportunities carefully matched to each child's strengths, interests, and developmental readiness. Under her leadership, the preschool program has continued to build on its longstanding reputation for exceptional teaching, meaningful relationships, and personalized learning experiences that help children develop the confidence, curiosity, independence, and strong academic foundation needed to thrive in the WHPS elementary program and beyond.
Mission Statement
My mission is to motivate and inspire creativity in all children. I want to support children's ideas and show them their thoughts matter in and out of the classroom. I want children to appreciate their natural surroundings because there is always a lesson to be learned.
