Elementary Extracurricular Programs
Available to Students in TK-Fifth Grade
Winter Session
December 1, 2025 - February 20, 2026
Learning doesn’t stop when the school day wraps up—it shifts into high gear. Students dive into a rotating lineup of high-energy, hands-on experiences that span everything from STEM, robotics, and coding to dance, sports, visual and performing arts, and creative design. Our trimester-based program evolves throughout the year, giving students the chance to experiment, explore, and uncover new passions while building confidence, collaboration, and real-world skills.

Extended care is recreational after-school care until 6:00 pm. Extended Care is supervised by WHPS staff and may include daily special crafts or activities. Extended care is available daily on an as-needed basis or monthly at a discounted rate.
Note: As-needed Preschool Extended Care is subject to availability depending on allowable class ratios.
-
While we do use homework sparingly and purposefully, there is a small amount of homework that begins in 1st grade. As a free service to children using Extended Care, a WHPS teacher provides a snack and assists students while they complete any homework

While Spanish is part of the normal school day, Mandarin or another foreign language is typically offered as an after-school extracurricular.

WHPS sponsors a Cub Scouts group that meets on campus on Tuesday evenings and some weekends. The group is open to elementary students of any gender.
